What It Is
This is a pair of amber LED side marker lights in a slim curved rectangular housing — chrome-edged with a reflective amber lens and 18 individual LEDs per unit. Each unit is approximately 18 to 20cm in length, surface-mounted using double-sided tape, and comes with approximately one metre of bare wire for connection to a 12V circuit. Wire taps are included in the box for tapping into an existing wire without cutting it. The construction is waterproof, making these suitable for external panel mounting in the engine bay area or on exterior bodywork.
These are standard LED load — no built-in Canbus resistors. On most cars these will not trigger a dashboard warning when connected to the parking light circuit, as they are wired independently rather than through the indicator or BCM circuit.
What Problem It Solves
Side marker lights on most Indian market cars are either absent entirely or limited to small reflectors that offer no active illumination. Adding a lit amber marker to the front fender improves side visibility — particularly relevant at night, in rain, and in low-light conditions where the car’s width and position are harder to judge by other road users approaching from an angle.
Beyond visibility, amber fender markers are a popular cosmetic addition that gives a vehicle a more purposeful, European-style appearance. The chrome-trim housing and reflective amber lens look clean and finished whether the lights are on or off.
Installation Logic
Clean the mounting surface on the fender or panel thoroughly before applying the double-sided tape. Position the unit on the front fender — the typical location is on the flat section of the fender between the wheel arch and the headlight. Press firmly and allow the tape to bond for a few minutes before routing the wire.
Route the approximately one metre wire along the inner fender lining toward the headlight area or the fusebox. Use the included wire taps to connect to the parking light wire — this activates the marker lights whenever the parking lights or sidelights are on. Alternatively, connect to a suitable always-on or switched 12V source via a fuse tap from the fusebox.
For fusebox connection, a blade fuse tap is required — available separately: TecUpdater Automotive Fuse Tap Set.
No drilling required. No permanent modification to the car’s wiring. If the markers are ever removed, the wire tap connection restores the original wire to its unmodified state.
Behaviour Explanation
Once connected to the parking light circuit, the markers activate and deactivate with the sidelights — they are on whenever the parking lights are on and off when they are off. Connected to an always-on or ignition-switched circuit, behaviour depends on the circuit chosen. The 18-LED array produces a consistent, even amber glow across the full length of the lens. There is no flash, no sequential pattern, and no controller — these are static marker lights.
Key Compatibility
Universal fit — compatible with any 12V car or bike that has a suitable flat panel surface for mounting and access to a nearby 12V wire. No vehicle-specific connector or housing is required. Commonly fitted on:
Cars: Maruti Suzuki Swift, Baleno, Brezza, Wagon R; Hyundai i20, Creta, Venue; Tata Nexon, Punch, Altroz; Kia Sonet, Seltos; Volkswagen Polo, Vento; Skoda Rapid, Slavia; Honda City, Amaze; Toyota Innova, Fortuner; Mahindra Scorpio N, XUV700
Bikes: Any bike with a flat fender or fairing panel and access to a 12V parking or sidelight circuit
✖ 12V only — not suitable for 24V trucks or commercial vehicles
✖ No built-in Canbus resistors — if your car throws a warning for independently wired accessories, an inline resistor may be needed
✖ Wire taps included — blade fuse tap for fusebox connection sold separately
Who Should Buy
Car and bike owners who want to add amber side marker lights to the front fender for improved side visibility and a cleaner exterior appearance. Suitable for DIY installation with basic wiring confidence. Works on any 12V vehicle with a suitable mounting surface.
Who Should Not Buy
Not suitable for 24V vehicles. Not suitable for anyone expecting a plug-and-play connector — these require basic wire connection using the included wire taps. Not suitable for vehicles without a nearby accessible 12V wire within approximately one metre of the intended mounting location.
Benefits
Double-sided tape mount means no drilling and no permanent modification to the bodywork. Wire taps allow a clean, reversible connection to an existing wire without cutting. The chrome housing and reflective amber lens look factory-fitted when properly installed. Waterproof construction means no degradation from rain, humidity, or engine bay moisture exposure.

FAQs
Q: Are wire taps included?
A: Yes. Wire taps for connecting to an existing wire are included in the box. For fusebox connection using a blade fuse tap, refer to the TecUpdater Automotive Fuse Tap Set available separately.
Q: Do these require drilling?
A: No. The units mount using double-sided tape. No drilling or permanent modification to the bodywork is required.
Q: Will these work on my bike?
A: Yes, provided your bike has a flat panel surface for mounting and access to a 12V parking or sidelight circuit within approximately one metre.
Q: Will these cause a dashboard warning light?
A: These are standard LED load with no built-in Canbus resistors. When connected to the parking light circuit independently they typically do not trigger warnings. If your car is sensitive to accessory load changes, an inline resistor may be needed.
Q: How long is the wire on each unit?
A: Approximately one metre per unit — generally sufficient to reach the headlight area or inner fender wiring from the front fender mounting position.
Q: Can I connect these to flash as indicators?
A: These are static marker lights — they produce a constant glow when powered. They are not designed or rated for indicator flash use.
